Nokia N82 Test
Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, 3G/3G +… Side communication N82 combines what is happening at the moment. Hard to do better for a smartphone. Côté system, Nokia is propelled by a Symbian S60. An OS which has been proven, and which once again brought honour to his reputation. The N82 does not stop there, it hunting in the field of multimedia. He wants APN, camera, Walkman, GPS and game console. The N-Gage platform launched at the end of 2007 by the manufacturer no shortage to the call.
Nokia leaves aside the sliding keyboard present on the N95 for a monoblock design. First result, the keyboard is stuck at the bottom of the device. Keys its small and close together. The few days spent with the N82 were at the root of much exasperation and frustration. The navigation pad flush the surface, and the keys on the command circling little improved our opinion on the ergonomics of N82. It is a mistake often, and we must try several times to reach the desired goal. This, just for the "physical" of ergonomics. The organization logic is another story. Unless it is a user's history of Nokia, the manual is essential. The extreme versatility of N82 with a monoblock construction leads to a simple observation. Difficult to combine functions as far as playing, photo, surf the Internet, telephony… while maintaining a simple and intuitive use.
The generous dimensions of N82 (11.2 x5x1, 7 cm) are split on the screen: six inches diagonal (2.4 inches) for a definition of 320x240 pixels. A screen able to switch from landscape mode to portrait mode depending on the direction of the phone.
The various functions of the N82 operate more or less the screen. Hard to be satisfied with a Web browser or an office use on a definition of this size. The keyboard does not put things right. This is a troubleshooting solution at best. Listening to music has fared much better with a drive to clear display, and is compatible with many format. The use is simple and audio quality takes comparison with the Walkman.
Part of the N82 camera is a success. It is based on a CMOS 5 million pixels, a fixed siglé Carl Zeiss and a small xenon flash. The digital zoom x20 rest. The small valve that protects the lens is also used to trigger the camera function. In less than two seconds, the N82 is ready to shoot. Without compete with the cliches of a camera, the photos from the N82 are sufficiently accurate to consider the 10x15 print.
The GPS N82 is a backup solution, and not a substitute for a real navigation device. The Nokia is a long time before capturing a signal, and quite often lost during a trip. What is… ideal for getting lost.
Rest the game! Quality graphics and smooth animation are here for you. The control over the navigation pad and the buttons did not take too bad, but a time of adjustment is necessary. The recreational N82 has a cost. Based on the N-Gage platform, we must pay between 6 and 10 euros for a complete set. The two-installed prè are only demos.
